Dr. Ronald B. Adler is professor emeritus at Santa Barbara City College. Throughout his career, he has specialized in the study of organizational and interpersonal communication. Dr. Adler is the coauthor of Understanding Human CommunicationInterplay: The Process of Interpersonal Communication 14th edition as well as the widely used textbook Looking Out/Looking In and the author of Confidence in Communication: A Guide to Assertive and Social Skills. Ronald Adler is also a consultant for a number of professional, corporate, and government clients and leads workshops in such areas as conflict resolution, team building, presentational speaking, and interviewing.

Russell F. Proctor II

Dr. Russell F. Proctor II was Professor of Communication Studies at Northern Kentucky University for over 25 years. He primarily taught courses in interviewing and interpersonal communication, and he won NKU’s Outstanding Professor Award in 1997. In addition to his work on Interplay 14th edition, he is also the coauthor of Looking Out, Looking In (2011). Professor Proctor has written and presented extensively on the use of feature films as instructional tools in communication courses (including Now Playing for OUP).
